Rossini’s Il turco in Italia is a witty, self-aware comedy fueled by curiosity, attraction, and cultural collision. When a Turkish traveler and a free-spirited Italian woman meet, their mutual fascination ignites a whirlwind of romantic confusion, comic chaos, and sharp social satire. Sparkling with effervescent ensembles and impeccable comedic timing, the opera offers a playful yet pointed look at love, identity, and the challenge of being true to oneself.
Peter Kozma directs the production and conducts the Opera Neo Orchestra.
